Vince Guaraldi
A native of San Francisco, Vince Guaraldi remains one of America’s most beloved and best-selling jazz artists. Though much of his legacy is tied to his association with the PEANUTS animated specials, Guaraldi had already made a name for himself in the jazz world with his 1962 LP, Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus, by the time he was tapped to score A Boy Named Charlie Brown.
Black Orpheus catapulted Guaraldi into wide recognition, and the track “Cast Your Fate to the Wind” became an instant hit, topping jazz and pop charts, and winning a 1963 GRAMMY® Award. However, Vince Guaraldi will always be known as the man who introduced generations of children to the joys of jazz – having scored years’ worth of PEANUTS specials - certainly, the instantly recognizable “Linus and Lucy” remains his most famous track.
