Brownie’s Blues was originally recorded in 1960 and released in 1962 on Presitge’s Bluesville Records. Renowned harmonica player and longtime collaborator, Sonny Terry, compliments McGhee’s guitar mastery on this album. Combining his jump-blues roots with his signature folk-blues sound, McGhee makes his virtuosity sound easy. This album has been (AAA) remastered from the original tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at QRP in partnership with Acoustic Sounds and is housed in a replica tip-on jacket.
Sonny's Story Descripton:
Originally released in 1960 on Bluesville Records, this album spotlights the renowned harmonica master’s signature rural blues style, imitating a train or fox chase, on original tracks. Though not joined by longtime collaborator, Brownie McGhee on this release, McGhee’s brother “Sticks” McGhee accompanies Terry on drums. The LP edition has been (AAA) remastered from the original tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at QRP in partnership with Acoustic Sounds and is housed in a replica tip-on jacket. The digital edition has also been remastered from the original tapes and is available on hi-res for the first time.
