Twenty years after its release, Louder Now returns in expanded 20th Anniversary Edition LP and CD formats. Released in 2006, the album marked a defining moment for Taking Back Sunday, transforming the band from underground heroes into one of the defining bands of 2000s alternative rock.
Arriving October 16, a new 20th anniversary edition pairs the original album with the B-sides "Brooklyn (If You See Something, Say Something)" and "Sleep." The bonus tracks are included on an exclusive 7-inch with the vinyl edition and on the deluxe CD, while fans can choose from a range of limited-edition color vinyl pressings (view all here), including a "Burgundy Metallic" pressing available exclusively through the Craft store.

SETTING THE "SCENE"
For a generation raised on Warped Tour summers, MySpace profiles, and late-night MTV2, few bands defined the sound of the 2000s quite like Taking Back Sunday. Emerging from Long Island’s thriving scene, the band helped reshape modern rock with emotionally charged songwriting, explosive live performances, and an unmistakable chemistry that resonated far beyond the underground. Their Platinum-certified 2002 debut for Victory Records, Tell All Your Friends, introduced a new generation to songs like “Cute Without The ‘E’ (Cut From The Team),” while 2004’s Where You Want To Be debuted at No.3 in the Billboard 200, establishing Taking Back Sunday as one of the era’s most important new voices.
By 2006, Taking Back Sunday had already become one of the defining bands of a new generation of alternative rock. Louder Now marked another turning point.
A NEW CHAPTER
Produced by Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Third Eye Blind, Good Charlotte), the album sharpened every aspect of the band's sound, balancing soaring melodies with heavier guitars and darker textures. It was Taking Back Sunday at their biggest without losing the emotional honesty that had connected with fans from the very beginning.
The response was immediate. Louder Now debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, became the band's highest-charting album to date, and earned Gold certification within just two months of release. Named Kerrang!'s Album of the Year in 2006, the record was praised by Rolling Stone as "a turbocharged attack spiked with dark, catchy melodies and giant choruses."
