THE RECORD COMPANY CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF GIVE IT BACK TO YOU

How a Los Feliz living room session sparked a GRAMMY®-nominated debut — and a decade of electrified blues-rock

Before The Record Company were filling theaters and sharing stages with John Mayer, B.B. King, and Social Distortion, they were just three friends jamming in a Los Feliz living room. That home-grown spark became Give It Back to You — the debut that launched the Los Angeles trio from neighborhood gigs to international acclaim.

This February, Craft Recordings celebrates with a 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Give It Back to You — a 2-LP, CD, and digital reissue featuring the original album plus the band’s never-before-heard first concert, recorded in 2013 in bassist Alex Stiff’s own living room. The digital edition goes even further, with bonus mixes, acoustic takes, live cuts, covers, and more to be revealed soon.

Arriving February 20, 2026, the expanded release captures The Record Company at their raw, unfiltered best — right where the story began.

FROM LIVING ROOM JAMS TO GLOBAL STAGES

The Record Company — Chris Vos (vocals, guitar), Alex Stiff (bass), and Marc Cazorla (drums) — formed almost by accident in 2011 after a late-night vinyl session soundtracked by John Lee Hooker’s Hooker ’N Heat and stories of Iggy Pop & The Stooges. What started as casual jams quickly became a mission: to make music that felt live, loose, and full of heart.

That spirit runs through every track on Give It Back to You. Recorded mostly live, it channels the swagger of early electric blues through the grit of garage rock. “Off the Ground,” “Rita Mae Young,” and “On the Move” hit like midnight transmissions — all slide guitar, harmonica, and pulse-racing groove.

“When we made Give It Back to You, we were just three guys in a room chasing a feeling,” recalls Vos. “Ten years later, we’re still chasing it — just on a few more stages.”

A DECADE OF MOMENTUM

Released in 2016, Give It Back to You spent 42 weeks on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, cracked the Top 20 on the Alternative Albums chart, and earned the band a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Lead single “Off the Ground” hit #1 on Billboard’s AAA chart, while “Rita Mae Young” followed in the Top 15 — both helping the band cross over from barrooms to national airwaves.

Critical praise rolled in fast:

“Raw emotion, dedication, honesty and hard work.” — Paste

“The blues may be nothing new, but The Record Company wring new life out of old traditions.” — Rolling Stone

Television appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan, and CBS This Morning cemented their breakout, followed by a high-energy Bonnaroo debut and a nationwide arena run with John Mayer.

INSIDE THE ANNIVERSARY EDITION

Give It Back to You (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) brings the band’s roots full circle with a complete 2013 living-room concert — rough-edged, loud, and joyous. The set features early versions of future favorites and a fiery cover of Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock & Roll,” foreshadowing the band’s eventual tour with Seger himself in 2019.

Formats include:

  • 2-LP gatefold – 180-gram vinyl featuring Give It Back to You + The Living Room Concert
  • CD edition – includes all 17 tracks
  • Digital – expanded edition with bonus material coming soon
